Ginger is a sweet year old Turkish Van with a Heart Murmur. We are not placing her up for adoption, rather looking into a quieter foster environment that will work with us as a long term foster for her. We are in no hurry to place her from her current foster home. But ideally would like a foster home that isn't quite as busy with animals going in and out. Ginger is up to date on vaccines and microchipped and we have her going to the vet once a month to monitor her progress. We have already helped her passed a couple other health issues and her overall health including her heart has improved tremendously. However she will never be adoptable. ... (Read More)What does it mean to be a foster? We pay for medical, provide food and supplies. Ginger is on a special diet with home-cooked meals we will supply, special food,and supplements to maintain her overall health. She hasn't needed to be on any medications for quite some time thankfully! Ginger is a typical kitty who LOVES to snuggle and be around her humans. She is more of a night owl and will play with toys and other kitties for awhile before going back to snuggling. Ginger hasn't let her health slow her down in the least bit and pretty much acts like a normal kitty. As previously mentioned, we will have her go in once a month to check the progress of her health. This fostering opportunity does although require a family that has experience with animals with heart murmurs or possibly someone that is familiar with the health field. This helps us make sure Ginger is being properly cared for and not freaking out over her little routines associated with her health. Again, we are not in a hurry to have her moved. Meet Happy! This compacted little guy is as easy going as they can come!He is a 1 1/2yrs old and only 45lbs!! He was rescued from Maricopa County Animal Control by Ladies of the West Side Rescue. Not quite sure what he is mixed with? Our best guess is Staffordshire Bull Terrer and perhaps maybe lab? A type of Terrier? Teddy Bear?! Who cares! He has the greatest personality you will ever meet!
